The latest Kapuso primetime drama series, ‘Lovers/Liars,’ faced a challenging start in the ratings race during its debut week.
According to the most recent Nielsen NUTAM People survey, ‘Lovers/Liars’ achieved respectable ratings in its pilot week, although with a narrow margin against its rival, ‘Senior High.’
On Monday, November 20, ‘Lovers/Liars’ secured a 4.5 percent rating, surpassing its Kapamilya counterpart, Senior High, which garnered 4.0 percent.
However, by Tuesday, November 21, the Kapuso series experienced a slight decline, dropping 0.1 percent to a 4.4 percent rating, reducing its lead to 0.4 percent against ‘Senior High,’ which held steady at 4.0 percent.
Midweek, on Wednesday, November 22, the Claudine Barretto-starrer maintained its 4.4 percent ratings and expanded its lead against ‘Senior High,’ which scored 3.2 percent, resulting in a 1.2 percent margin.
Thursday, November 23, saw ‘Lovers/Liars’ increase by 0.2 percent to reach 4.6 percent, but ‘Senior High’ narrowed the lead to 0.9 percent, achieving a rating of 3.7 percent.
In the latest report on Monday, November 27, ‘Senior High’ secured its first victory against ‘Lovers/Liars,’ posting a 4.3 percent rating compared to ‘Lovers/Liars’ 4.1 percent.
Meanwhile, in terms of online views, ‘Senior High’ clearly dominated the field. Comparing YouTube views of the pilot episode, ‘Lovers/Liars’ trailed significantly behind ‘Senior High,’ amassing just over 370,000 views on the GMA network YouTube Channel, while ‘Senior High’ garnered over 2.9 million views.
Can ‘Lovers/Liars’ boost its ratings and emulate the success of its predecessor, ‘Unbreak My Heart’? Or will Senior High maintain its lead and continue to dominate the third slot in primetime? Only time will tell.
