GMA Network’s primetime drama series, ‘Love Before Sunrise (LBS),’ secured a recent victory against its Kapamilya rival, ‘Can’t Buy Me Love,’ in a closely contested timeslot battle.
According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People survey ratings report, LBS has now taken the lead in the timeslot, surpassing the former leader, CBML.
On Tuesday, November 14, LBS achieved a rating of 8.5 percent, claiming the 7th position on the leaderboard. It outperformed CBML by 1.0 percent, which registered at 7.5 percent, placing it 8th in the overall ratings chart.
The previous day, on Monday, November 13, both programs were tied at the 7th position, each recording a rating of 8.3 percent.
In the preceding week, the series starring Bea Alonzo and Dennis Trillo dominated the timeslot with a three-day winning streak starting on Wednesday, November 8, with a rating of 8.1 percent compared to CBML’s 7.1 percent.
On Thursday, November 9, LBS maintained its timeslot supremacy, achieving a rating of 8.3 percent against CBML’s 7.5 percent.
Closing the week on Friday, November 10, LBS remained at the top with a rating of 8.7 percent, surpassing CBML by 1.3 percent, as CBML recorded 7.4 percent.
The DonBelle series initially led the rating race on Monday, November 6, with a score of 8.1 percent against LBS’ 7.4 percent. It continued its lead on Tuesday, November 7, with a rating of 8.7 percent compared to its rival’s 8.1 percent.
The success of ‘Love Before Sunrise’ may be attributed to the impressive debut of the fellow Kapuso primetime drama ‘Black Rider,’ which received strong ratings during its pilot week.
Additionally, LBS may have also benefited from the absence of ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’ on A2Z, as the Kapamilya primetime lineup airs on TV5 only every Tuesday and Thursday to accommodate the airing of PBA games on A2Z Channel 11.
