On November 10, Kapamilya actress Karylle declared she was back in her action era.
At the media event for ‘Ma’am Chief: Shakedown in Seoul,’ which LionhearTV covered, Karylle highlighted how their executive producer, Happee Sy-Go, convinced her to do an action-comedy role in their movie.
“Theater is thriving so I’m doing back to back theater projects. I’m very grateful, pero kasi, siguro mayroon nagpa–parang you got me out of my movie shell. Kasi sabi niya (Happee Sy-Go), action? May action pa ‘yan?”
She then remarked that she’s back in her action era, citing her recent Magpasikat performance with her Encantadia (2005) co-stars, Iza Calzado, Sunshine Dizon, and Diana Zubiri.
“Kasi siyempre, Encantadia was a lot of years ago, pero nakita ninyo ‘yung Encantadia sa It’s Showtime the other day, I think I’m back in my action era no.
“So thank you to Happee so much, kasi I’ve known her, ever since my first opera in GMA 7. Mahuhulaan ninyo ba? Tween Hearts– so doon sa mga nakakaalala pa.
“So kapag tumawag ang ka-batchmate mo sa school, sa school–oo schoolmates kami noon.”
She also noted that being a K-Drama attributed to her acceptance of the role in ‘Ma’am Chief: Shakedown in Seoul.’
“Also, I’ve been such a big K-Drama fan, and palagi akong umaattend ng mga–sino ba ‘yung mga naattendan ko, basta may mga naaattendan ako, and my husband became a big K-Drama fan as well. So sabi ko, ito na ‘yung pinapangarap ko na mapagsasanib ‘yung Filipino talent and ofcourse, K-Drama.”
Karylle portrayed the role of ‘Alena’ in the 2005 iteration of the Kapuso Fantasy series, ‘Encantadia.’
