‘It’s Showtime’ made a triumphant comeback, debuting on its new and earlier timeslot of 11:30 am on weekdays.
The show introduced two exhilarating new segments, ‘It’s Showdown’ and ‘Funanghalian,’ which quickly gained popularity on social media as it kicked off on Monday, October 30.
On October 30, two ratings providers issued TV ratings data for noontime shows. ‘It’s Showtime’ (A2Z/GTV) led in Kantar Media (combining Urban + Rural data) with a 6.9% rating, followed by ‘Eat Bulaga’ (GMA Network) at 5.5%, and ‘EAT’ (TV5) at 4.6%.
In NUTAM (selected Urban areas), ‘EAT’ (TV5) took the top spot with a 4.4% rating, while ‘Eat Bulaga’ (GMA Network) secured 3.8%, and ‘It’s Showtime’ trailed with 2.4%.
Based on concurrent views from YouTube and Facebook, ‘It’s Showtime’ outperformed its competitors, peaking at 191k views. ‘EAT’ followed with 126k views, and ‘Eat Bulaga’ lagged behind with only 3.2k views, according to LionhearTV‘s monitoring.
Viewers expressed their delight in seeing the ABS-CBN’s popular noontime show return to its classic format, highlighting the remarkable dance talents of Filipinos in the ‘It’s Showdown’ segment. They also enjoyed the playful banter among the hosts in ‘Funanghalian.’
In ‘It’s Showdown,’ two groups competed in segments like ‘Hatawan-on-one’ and ‘Dance Showdown’ to impress the judges. The first round featured a dance-off between representatives from each group in the Dance Arena. In the second round, both groups presented their prepared dance pieces. In the event of a tie, the hosts selected one member from each group for a solo showdown.
During the inaugural episode, AMK Rock Nation emerged as the winner with a total score of 4.2 points, as assessed by judges Vimi Rivera, the country director of World of Dance, Mickey Perz, Star Magic’s head choreographer, and Kim Chiu, known as “ASAP’s” Queen of the Dancefloor.
In ‘Funanghalian,’ pairs of ‘It’s Showtime’ hosts tested their knowledge by matching answers within given categories.
