Gerald Anderson has expressed his keen interest in taking on a superhero project that delves into the complexities of a flawed character.
The actor envisions portraying a hero with a good message but one who makes mistakes, providing a more humanized perspective on the traditional superhero narrative.
“Basta may magandang mensahe… ah gusto ko sanang gumawa ng superhero project. Something different. Hero siya pero nakakagawa siya ng mali. Para hindi naman laging mabait or humanized ‘yung character.”
During the ‘Solid Kapamilya: The Gerald Anderson Network Contract Signing’ event held at the ABS-CBN Dolphy Theater, Gerald shared his enthusiasm for the next phase of his career, emphasizing a heightened motivation to engage in projects that inspire Filipinos.
With 17 years of dedication to ABS-CBN, the actor remains committed to delivering impactful and meaningful content to the audience.
“Kahit 17 years na akong nagtratrabaho sa ABS-CBN, I think these next few years mas motivated ako. Mas excited and mas passionate to do more projects na makaka-inspire sa mga Pilipino. Alam ko kasi na kapag binigay mo lahat at maganda ang proyekto, I have seen the impact sa mga kapwa Pilipino natin,” expressed Gerald during the event.
While specific details about upcoming projects are still in discussion, Gerald conveyed his preference for teleseryes akin to his previous works like ‘A Soldier’s Heart’ and ‘A Family Affair.’ Additionally, he expressed a desire to collaborate with Richard Gutierrez on an action-drama project.
Among those present at the contract signing were ABS-CBN Chairman Mark Lopez, ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak, ABS-CBN COO for broadcast Cory Vidanes, ABS-CBN group CFO Rick Tan, TV production and Star Magic head Laurenti Dyogi, along with his handler Portia Dimla.
Apart from his on-screen accomplishments, Gerald acknowledged the profound impact of ABS-CBN’s outreach programs, fueling his commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of fellow Filipinos. “One of the things that inspire me before was ‘yung mga outreach namin sa ABS-CBN. When people see the symbol sa mga shirt at trucks ng ABS-CBN at Sagip Kapamilya, nakikita ko sa kanila na parang si Superman yung dumating. To be part of that even hindi sa work, ipinagpatuloy ko ‘yan because of what I have seen sa mga outreach ko with them. I was inspired and I want to inspire others,” he shared.
