The Kapamilya action-drama has practically wedged itself on top of the ratings chart, as its leadership streak remains unbroken since the debut of its previous rival Kapuso show.
FPJ’s Batang Quiapo remains unstoppable in the ratings game, despite not airing every Wednesday and Friday on A2Z. The Zoe Broadcasting Network-owned channel contributes an average of 5% people rating to the total rating performance of the flagship Kapamilya primetime show. Since November 5, the current season of the PBA Games , has been airing on A2Z’s primetime block (8:00-10:30 pm), subsequently pre-empting Kapamilya primetime shows on their respective timeslots.
Last Thursday, November 16, the Coco Martin-starrer posted a people rating of 5.0 on A2Z, alone, while its total was logged at 15.4, the highest among local entertainment TV programs. The more solid proof to FPJ’s Batang Quiapo massive popularity, however, is reflected by the spike in its ratings on TV5, on days it isn’t airing on A2Z, Take last Friday, November 17, for example; according to Nielsen Philippines, the Kapamilya action-drama was a double-digit top rater, pulling off an impressive 12.0 people rating, through TV5, alone. That’s a 15% improvement from its people rating of 8.7 recorded the previous night.
FPJ’s Batang Quiapo trumped daytime leader, Abot Kamay Ng Pangarap, which, nevertheless, pulled off a stellar 11.3, through its free-to-air airing on GMA Network’s main channel. The Jillian Ward-starrer notably also airs on another Kapuso free-to-air channel, Pinoy Hits, which rarely contributes a people rating of higher than 0.1.
More noticeably, and perhaps, the moreconvincing indication of Batang Quiapo’s unrivaled leadership over the 8 PM slot, is its gawking 4-point average lead versus Black Rider. Last November 17, the Ruru Madrid-led action drama paled in comparison to its Kapamilya counterpart. 10.7 to 14.6, in terms of total same timeslot ratings.
