On October 21, content creator Erwan Heussaff revealed that he enjoyed Lemon Dou’s Devil Lemon because of its ‘strong’ profile.
At the media event for Lemon Dou, which LionhearTV covered, Heussaff said Lemon Dou’s Devil Lemon variant goes well with his food preference.
“I kind of like the Devil (Lemon)–you [kind of] get that whole lemon experience, you know, you get a [really] strong profile, which I really enjoy. A little bit of sweetness there, not as much as the other two variants, [especially] because I like food that’s on the limit of being this too salty. I like food like that, and that’s where an alcoholic drink with a more robust flavor pairs perfectly.”
He then discussed how he joined Lemon Dou, noting he had been drinking the Japanese beverage before becoming an endorser.
“It’s [actually] that I’ve been drinking for a while even [like] before the category was in the Philippines. Dewy drinks are [very] popular in Japan, and if you’re in Japanese mini-stores or 7/11’s and stuff like that, you’d [actually] see a can that looks like this– same colors and everything. So, it’s [really] a Japanese favorite profile, which I love so much.”

He talked about his bartending experience, citing how Filipinos often love Lemon concoctions with his beverages.
“I used to bartend a lot, and one of the drinks I used to make in my cocktail bar was Highballs– Highballs when I was serving Filipino guests, they would always ask–Highballs is [literally] just a base spirit. So it can be anything, it can be soju, whiskey, with some sour.
“And each time I serve that to Filipinos, they [would] always ask for– if you can squeeze in a lemon or add some lemon juice [into it.] And that’s how I [kind of] like, grew with the new profile. It’s something I’ve known for quite some time, so– it’s actually a good drink, so when it came out sabi ko, this is kind of like the perfect combination, especially with the food [that] we eat.”
Lemon-Dou is a refreshing, full-bodied chūhai (a canned alcoholic drink) that bursts with the zest of whole crushed lemons, infused in alcohol, and mixed with fizzy bubbles.
Lemon-Dou comes in three variants in 320ml cans: Honey Lemon (3% ABV), Signature Lemon (5% ABV), and Devil Lemon (9% ABV), and since its launch, it has become an ideal companion for Filipinos of legal drinking age who crave unique-tasting beverages and distinct Japanese flavors.
The beloved Japanese beverage recently signed content creators Erwan Heussaff and Ninong Ry as their newest brand ambassadors. The two attended the ‘Lemon-Dou: Discover Izakaya‘ this October 21 at the Forbes Town Burgos Park in BGC, Taguig City.
