Columnist Cristy Fermin has taken a bold stance against what appeared to be a subtle dig from the Unkabogable Star, Vice Ganda, during an episode of the ABS-CBN noontime show ‘It’s Showtime.’
Cristy openly acknowledged feeling targeted when Vice Ganda playfully commented on the ‘Me Choose, Me Choose’ segment, where a contestant shared her name.
In the live episode aired on Thursday, November 23, 2023, Vice Ganda greeted the contestant with, “Kamusta ka, Cristy?
During her own program, ‘Cristy Ferminute,’ broadcasted on 92.3 Radyo5 and One PH on Friday, November 24, 2023, Cristy did not shy away from addressing Vice Ganda’s remarks.
While not directly mentioning Vice Ganda’s name, Cristy suggested that his comments were directed at her, expressing that they usually overlook Vice Ganda’s jokes. She even mentioned her co-host, Wendell Alvarez, in this context.
Cristy asserted that Vice Ganda’s current appearance owes much to his wealth and that true beauty transcends physical attributes, emphasizing the importance of character.
Although Vice Ganda did not explicitly name Cristy, she challenged him to address her directly and criticized him for veiled remarks rather than straightforward confrontation.
“Diretso kong nasasabi yun!
Cristy revealed that they no longer discuss Vice Ganda on their show, ‘Showbiz Now Na!,’ after the MTRCB suspension against ‘It’s Showtime’ was lifted. Despite this, she claimed that Vice Ganda continued making indirect comments.
In response to Vice Ganda’s alleged indirect remarks, Cristy defended her integrity, questioning the Unkabogable Star’s suspension and the public backlash he faced. She concluded by advising Vice Ganda against arrogance and reminding him that popularity is transient.
Vice Ganda responded on his X (formerly Twitter) account with posts filled with laughter emojis and a gif photo, leaving netizens to interpret his reaction.
