On November 9, GMA Senior Assistant Vice President Cheryl Ching-Sy revealed the secret behind the success of GMA Afternoon Prime.
At the media conference for ‘Stolen Life,’ which LionhearTV covered, Ching-Sy remarked that their success came from the quality of content they provide in the afternoon roster.
“Pangyabang lang, with offerings like this, how can we achieve high ratings in the afternoon? Ganyan lahat mga offerings namin sa afternoon.”
She also emphasized GMA Network’s Mantra of considering their audience as bosses.
“And the main reason is that we treat our audience as our boss. Sa GMA ‘yun talaga ang mantra namin, the audience is the boss, whether morning ‘yan, or afternoon, or noontime, or primetime–evening, we give it our best.
“Kasi siyempre, kung boss mo ‘yan, you have to please your boss, you have to serve your boss the best that you can, para pagdating ng appraisal, mataas ang appraisal mo, so in this case, kapag dumadating na ‘yung ratings, mataas ang ratings.”
Aside from their focus on providing quality content to their audience, Ching-Sy also attributed the success of GMA Afternoon Prime to the team behind the roster of hit teleseryes.
“And also, gusto ko rin ipagyabang na ‘yung GMA Entertainment group, ‘yung Drama Department, magagaling na teams. So in this case, ‘yung Afternoon Prime team namin ay headed by Ali (Ali Marie Nokom-Dedicatoria), and Dode (Richard ‘Dode’ Cruz), and they’re supported by very good creative and production team.”
Creative Head for Afternoon Prime Richard ‘Dode’ Cruz echoed Ching-Sy’s statement about valuing their audience while citing Carla Abellana’s Kontrabida portrayal.
As for ‘Stolen Life,’ the series stars Carla Abellana, Beauty Gonzales, and Gabby Concepcion.
The series also features Celia Rodriguez, Divine Aucina, Anjo Damiles, Lovely Rivero, William Lorenzo, and Juharra Zhianne Asayo.
Under the direction of Jerry Lopez Sineneng, ‘Stolen Life’ airs on GMA Afternoon Prime starting November 13.
