On October 27, Kapuso actress Andrea Torres discussed how she overcomes burnout.
At the media conference for the Kapuso Mall Show in Vista Mall Davao, Davao City, for GMA Regional TV, which LionhearTV covered, Torres acknowledged how an emotional role would often leave a feeling of burnout for actors.
“Hindi, nakakaramdam naman talaga, I think it’s because binibigay mo ‘yung buong sarili mo doon sa project, you want to do well, talagang kapag gumagawa ka ng soap, kahit na wala kang taping, ‘yung utak mo nandoon sa soap eh. Kung ano pa bang pwede mong madagdag, paano mo pa siya mapaganda.
“Tsaka kasi emotions eh, real na experiences ‘yung binabalikan mo doon eh. So makakaramdam ka talaga noon.”
She noted how her family and personal time help her recharge after working intensely on a project.
“Pero sa akin, how do I deal with it? Siyempre family, looking forward ako lagi sa time with my family, gusto ko rin na binibigyan ‘yung sarili ko parang, I think important ‘yun na hindi naman kailangan magpa-spa ka, or kumuha ka ng something na mahal.Â
“Minsan kahit sa bahay lang, ‘yung quiet time lang, ma-treat mo lang ‘yung sarili mo, madistansya mo lang ‘yung sarili mo from social media, from work mo, from all the noise.”
She also highlighted how she values her mental health through her early morning routine.
“So ganon, very conscious ako diyan, sa mental health ko. Actually, maaga akong gumigising, kasi important sa akin ‘yung morning routine ko na bago mag-start ‘yung araw, nagawa ko na ‘yan.Â
“Nakapagbasa na ako, nakapag-dasal na ko, take time ako maligo, ayusan ko ‘yung sarili ko, ‘yung ganon. Sana lahat, sana pwedeng magkaroon ng pwede nilang puntahan lagi para hindi nila ma-feel na ayaw na nilang ipagpatuloy, especially if it is something like this, something you’re very passionate about.”
