In a recent interview with Luis Manzano on November 21, actress Andrea Brillantes, who regarded her recent heartbreak as the “highlight” of 2023, shared her resolution for the upcoming year—to “be brave” and “be wiser in terms of boys.”
When prompted by Manzano about the highlight of her 2023, Brillantes openly responded, “To be honest, ‘yung heartbreak ko.” Despite facing romantic challenges, she acknowledged feeling blessed in other facets of her life, such as her relationships with fans, friends, co-stars, and management.
Discussing her resolution for 2024, Brillantes confessed to not achieving past resolutions and expressed her intention to relish life, confront challenges courageously, have fun, and, most importantly, exercise prudence and wisdom in matters of the heart.
“Honestly, tinitingnan ko itong 2023 as pinakamalas ko sa pag-ibig romantically, pero pinakamaswerte ko rin sa pag-ibig sa fans, sa friends, sa co-stars ko, sa casual viewers ko, sa management ko,” she shared.
Elaborating on the qualities she seeks in a future romantic partner, Brillantes emphasized loyalty, care, gentlemanliness, respect, and authenticity—a real man.
“Kumbaga, I don’t want a boy. I want a man. That’s what I need. I need a man… Hindi ko kailangan ng insecure. Kailangan ko lang ng tunay, buong-buo na lalaki,” she emphasized.
Andrea Brillantes’ most recent public relationship was with basketball player Ricci Rivero. The couple officially confirmed their breakup on June 9 after being together since April of the previous year.
