Once a consistently top-rated program, the Kapamilya action-drama teleserye ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo (FJPBQ)’ has now settled into the overall number 2 position.
According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People survey, while FPJBQ maintains its leadership among entertainment programs, its diminished reach, stemming from its absence on A2Z, has curtailed its ability to secure the top spot consistently.
On Monday, November 13, FPJBQ garnered a rating of 15.9 percent, trailing ’24 Oras’ by a slim margin of 0.1 percent, which held a 16.0 percent rating.
By Tuesday, November 14, FPJBQ managed to share the overall lead with ’24 Oras,’ both achieving 15.9 percent ratings.
However, on Wednesday, November 15, the teleserye led by Coco Martin slipped back to the number 2 spot with a rating of 14.7 percent, compared to ’24 Oras,’ which secured a 16.9 percent rating.
Maintaining its number 2 position, FPJBQ scored 15.4 percent on Thursday, November 16, trailing the overall leader, ’24 Oras,’ by 0.3 percent, as it registered a rating of 15.7 percent.
The decline in FPJBQ’s ratings can be attributed to its absence on A2Z, making way for the broadcast of PBA games. Since the commencement of the PBA games, FPJBQ and other Kapamilya primetime bida teleseryes have only aired on TV5 every Wednesday and Friday.
This reduced reach has significantly impacted FPJBQ’s rankings, as A2Z contributed an average of an additional 2-3 percent in ratings, which is now absent when the series is not broadcast on A2Z.
Despite these challenges, it appears that a substantial portion of the A2Z audience continues to follow FPJBQ on TV5, demonstrating its enduring popularity among entertainment programs.
