The Kapuso star’s statement is a response to the reactions garnered by her viral catfight scene in the afternon series, The Missing Husband.
Kapuso actress, Yasmien Kurdi, clarified on X (Twitter), that her viral elevator catfight scene with Sophie Albert in The Missing Husband, was intended to be funny. Earlier today, October 1, Kurdi took to X to share her experience while doing the scene, which as she claimed, is not complete.
Prior to Kurdi’s clarification, netizen @KPIEChannel, posted a clip of the viral elevator scene on X, as a response to another post asking for the ‘best elevator scene’. Such a scene garnered mixed reactions, but most netizens found it rather funny and over-the-top.

According to the Starstruck aluma, some parts of the scenes had to be edited out, because they had limited airing time to accommodate the whole of it. She also revealed that such scene was really meant to be hilarious.
“Sa mga nagreact sa scene na ito, sinadya yung fight scenes namin ni Ria maging comedy. May na edit out na scene na nga diyan noong dumating yung dalawang madre tapos pina-alalahanan kami tungkol sa mabuting asal. Pero nag edit out na kasi madami kami materials for airing time, “ she posted on X.

Responding to another netizen who wished for a director’s cut of the said scene and asked whether the nuns that got cut out of the scene, were also accidentally slapped in the face, Kurdi has the following to say.
“Hindi sila nasampal pero huminto sa pagaaway si Ria at Millie… pero noong umalis ang mga madre, tinuloy nila yung away. Tapos dumating naman yung last guy na nadamay kaya siya sa nasampal at sapak. After that scene nag sorry naman si Millie “Sorry Sis”. Pero need to cut, “.

Kurdi also teased her followers of what may happen next to some of the characters in her afternoon series.
“Maraming comedy scenes sa #TheMissingHusband kapag ka eksena na ni Millie si Cai, kuya Mike… Wag kayo mabigla kapag may comedy scenes kami ni Jak soon 🙂 Gusto kc ipakita ng show na kahit gaano kabigat ang mga problema sa buhay, may comedy pa din na nangyayari sa life, ” she said, explaining the need for some scenes to be comic and light.
