Comedian Vice Ganda lightened the mood surrounding the recent controversy involving OPM band Kamikazee, who were allegedly removed from an event they were scheduled to perform at in Sorsogon.
Initially, Kamikazee had announced their participation in the Kasanggayahan Festival in Sorsogon. However, Governor Boboy Hamor publicly stated that the band would no longer be part of the event’s lineup.
According to a talent coordinator who had been working with Kamikazee, the band’s refusal to participate in a photo opportunity at a popular tourist spot in Sorsogon had reportedly upset the governor.
Governor Hamor made it clear that he had paid the band’s talent fee despite their non-compliance with his request, but he emphasized that they would not be allowed to perform any longer.
Meanwhile, Vice Ganda, who was also present at the event, seized the opportunity to inject humor into the situation by referencing Kamikazee’s predicament. He even entertained the audience by performing one of Kamikazee’s most well-known songs.
During his performance, Vice transitioned seamlessly from singing a Taylor Swift song to incorporating Kamikazee’s hit track ‘Narda.’ The crowd responded with enthusiastic cheers.
As of the latest update, Kamikazee has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
