On September 15, Mega Star Sharon Cuneta remarked that she wants Gabby Concepcion to have the top billing if they have a movie project together.
During the media conference for the upcoming reunion concert ‘Dear Heart’ at Okada Manila, which LionhearTV covered, Cuneta noted that Concepcion deserved to get the top billing in their films.
“And by the way, ngayon ko na sasabihin ‘to. Dapat ‘pag may pelikula, una talaga si Gabby sa billing. Kasi it’s been Sharon and then him since Dear Heart and I feel na he’s not happy with that. And rightly so, pero sa pagkanta, Sharon una, kasi 12 ako nag-start, tsaka singer ako. So ‘yun naman.”
She explained that she wanted to give respect to Concepcion as an artist.
“Wala akong problema doon, I know my place in the business, and everyone knows what I’ve worked for, where I’ve arrived at, where I am. There’s nothing [that] I have to prove, pero I have to give that respect to Gabby– it makes me happy. It will make me happy.”
However, she maintained that she would prefer getting the top billing for concert events and performances, citing her experience as a singer.
“Pero sa concert, una ako ha, kasi doon lang tayo sa totoo. Pero sa pelikula, kapag gagawa man kami dapat talaga mauna siya billing. I want to give him that respect that he has long deserved in all of our movies.”
As for her upcoming project, Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion reunite for an upcoming concert titled ‘Dear Heart’ on October 27 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. They would also have a special VIP night at the Okada Grand Ballroom on October 30. The concert will also have a second leg going to Cebu on November 17.
