On October 2, seasoned actress Ruby Ruiz recounted how she told Nicole Kidman about the talented stars in the Philippines.
At the media event for ‘Linlang,’ which LionhearTV covered, Ruiz detailed her conversation with Kidman after the Hollywood actress praised her acting skills on the set of ‘The Expats.’
“Hindi lang si Kim but the rest of the cast. ‘Yun nga ‘yung sabi ko, kasi may isa kaming eksena doon ni Miss Nicole Kidman, sabi niya, ‘You’re so good.’ Ganon-ganon. Paano naman kaya ako naging good, wala naman akong sinabi, ‘Yes, ma’am, yes ma’am.’ Kumbaga parang nag-react lang ako doon sa kaniya, doon sa pinaka monologue niya.”
She then highlighted to Kidman that she should see the talent of actors in the Philippines.
“And then ang sabi ko po sa kaniya, when I told her, ‘You find me good? Then you should meet the best actors and the talents that we have in the Philippines.'”
Ruiz also noted the benefit of having her projects such as ‘Linlang’ and ‘The Expats’ premiere on the same streaming platform.
“And kaya ako masaya na ipapalabas siya sa Prime Video kasi mapapanood din ng mga producers namin doon sa show, ‘yung pinagkaabalahan ko while waiting for the release of ‘The Expats.’ Masayang-masaya po ako, and grateful, dahil unang lalabas ‘tong Linlang sa Amazon Prime– tapos tamang-tama kapag matatapos na ‘yung 14 episodes, tsaka naman ire-release ‘yung ‘The Expats’ in Amazon Prime.”
She then emphasized Amazon’s aggressive marketing campaign, which would help ‘Linlang’ reach Filipino audiences in the U.S.
“And ako, sobra kong pino-promote ang Amazon Prime, kasi kahit po sa Hollywood, kahit sa America, talagang very aggressive ang ano nila, ang marketing, you know to reach a wider audience. So ang laking tulong po for Amazon Prime na magkakaroon sila ng Linlang, kasi maraming Filipinos– I think, or I believe na tatangkilik sa Linlang. So malaking tulong ‘yun sa Amazon Prime.”
The Prime Video series ‘Linlang’ stars Kim Chiu, Paulo Avelino, JM De Guzman, Maricel Soriano, Ruby Ruiz, and Kaila Estrada.
The cast also features Jaime Fabregas, Raymond Bagatsing, Albie Casiño, Jake Ejercito, Heaven Peralejo, Adrian Lindayag, Race Matias, Benj Manalo, Lovely Abella, Frenchie Dy, Ross Pesigan, Hanna Lexie, Juno Advincula, Connie Virtucio, Lotlot Bustamante, Meann Espinosa, Danny Ramos, Bart Guingona, Marc Mcmahon, Anji Salvacion, and Kice.
