On October 16, Melai Cantiveros, one of the hosts of ‘It’s Your Lucky Day,’ humorously imitated Anne Curtis’ famous opening greeting on ‘It’s Showtime,’ the program that ‘It’s Your Lucky Day’ is temporarily replacing.
As she twirled like Anne Curtis, Cantiveros quipped, “It’s short time!” in reference to the two-week run of the new ABS-CBN noontime show.
Later in the episode, ABS-CBN executive Cory Vidanes made a visit to the ‘It’s Your Lucky Day’ studio. This prompted Cantiveros and main host Luis Manzano to jokingly request a different time slot for their show once ‘It’s Showtime’ returns.
Luis Manzano playfully addressed Cory Vidanes, saying, “Tita Cory, kanina po nung opening, ginanon (siniko) ako ni Melai (Cantiveros). Sabi niya, ‘Kuya Luis, sana ilagay tayo bago mag-It’s Showtime’ o bago mag-TV Patrol.'”
Cantiveros quickly chimed in, “Wala naman akong sinabi Ma’am Cory.”
In fairness to their noontime show, despite ‘It’s Your Lucky Day’ having a two-week run, the hosts put in effort, and their banter has resonated with viewers. Several clips have trended on social media, signifying that they have made an impact in just a few days.
Given this, netizens suggested that it would be a waste if the show is not continued. They proposed that ABS-CBN consider making it a pre-noontime show and place it in GMA Network’s ‘TikToClock’ time slot. Alternatively, they suggested scheduling it before ‘Minute to Win It’ just before ‘TV Patrol.’

As ‘It’s Your Lucky Day’ wraps up its two-week run, viewers will have to wait to see what ABS-CBN has in store for the show’s future. ‘It’s Showtime’ is set to return to its noontime slot starting October 28.
