He was able to reminisce this point of his career during the October 24 episode of the Kapamilya noon time show, where Manzano and the other hosts shared what previous decision they made that they are now only laughing about. For Manzano, it was his leading man phase
”Ako ang desisyong pinagtatawanan ko ngayon, ay yung sinubukan kong maging leading man sa mga teleserye ng ABS” he told hi co-hosts who immediately recalled his past teleseryes, like Kampanerang Kuba, where he starred opposite Anne Curtis, and Crazy For You where he played as one of Toni Gonzaga’s leading men.
“Kasi kung ikukumpara mo sa mga magagaling na aktor gaya ni Piolo, gaya ni Lloydie, ni Joshua? Pag yan umiyak, alam mo ‘yung nakaganon lang sila, tapos isang tulo luha tapos ang gwapo gwapo pa rin nila?”
“Balikan nyo ‘yung 84,000 na movies na ginawa ko. Ako kapag umiyak, ang panget panget ko, ” he jokingly said, which spontaneously made his co-hosts burst in laughter. He then demonstrated how he cries in dramas, pulling off a funny face, which made the whole studio further explode in laughter.
“Kuya Luis, ang gwapo mo pa rin naman” said Melai Cantiveros, which the rest of the hosts echoed.
Aside from TV dramas, Manzano notably also starred in several romcom movies, as well as comedies. He is currently regarded as the ‘Pambansang Host’, a distinction that makes him one of the prominent figures in hosting scene.
