On September 19, Kapuso artist Lexi Gonzales recounted her encounters with ‘boyfriend-stealing’ people.
At the media event for Regal Studio Presents’ 2nd anniversary, which LionHearTV covered, Gonzales acknowledged that there are a lot of ‘boyfriend-stealers’ in showbiz.
“Madami ‘yan di ba? Sa industriya natin di mawawala ‘yan.”
However, she remarked that people should know when to choose their battles and when they should fight for their relationships.
“Pero, ano ‘yan eh, alam natin dapat ‘yung battles natin. We must choose our battles. So maraming tao ang will drag you down, gustong agawin ‘yung boyfriend mo, maraming ganon, pero pipiliin mo na lang kung kailan ka lalaban. Kasi kung hindi naman worth it, ba’t mo lalabanan di ba?”
She also cited the value of trust in maintaining loyalty in a relationship, noting how she and her beau, Gil Cuerva, understand each other’s showbiz career.
“Ako kasi, with loyalty comes trust eh. Importante sa relationship ang tiwala. Lalo na sa industriya natin di ba? Aminin na natin, marami diyang mga ahas, marami diyan ang mga plastic. Pero, nasa-sayo na ‘yun eh if you trust your partner. Kami kasi, even if we’re on the same industry pareho kaming actors, so dapat naiintindihan namin ‘yung isa’t-isa.”
She also highlighted how secure she felt about her relationship with Cuerva.
“And ako, I trust him, in the same way naman din, he trusts me. So dahil dun sa tiwala na ‘yun, mayroon kaming loyalty sa isa’t isa.”
