On September 28, Kapamilya star Kim Chiu confirmed that her beau, Xian Lim, would not attend the ABS-CBN Ball 2023.
At the media event for her endorsement of Lifestrong’s Hairfix, which LionhearTV covered, Chiu explained that Lim was in India and she would attend the Kapamilya event on her own.
“Oh, wala si Xian, nasa India siya as of the moment. Nagmo-motor siya sa Himalayas, pangarap niya ‘yun eh. May nag-invite sa kaniya so ingat siya. First time ko– di naman first time, parang 2012, magkasama kami, ngayon 2023, ako lang mag-isa. Kaya ko naman siguro ‘to.”
She discussed what she looks forward to during the ABS-CBN Ball, especially with the recently postponed gathering in 2022.
“Siguro siyempre kasi 2019 ‘yung last na ABS-CBN Ball. And then supposedly last year dapat meron kaso di natuloy. So this time, sobrang naging ano talaga, sobrang nilo-look forward ko talaga dahil ito ‘yung time na iba ‘yung itsura namin, pinaghandaan namin. Hindi kami naka-role as actors, actress, singers, or dancers. We’re just celebrating on how grateful we are na nandito pa rin kami bilang isang Kapamilya.”
She also considered the event as a reunion of Kapamilya stars.
“So looking forward sa glits ang glamor, to say hi, hello sa mga nakatrabaho namin sa ABS-CBN. And it’s ano– reunion na rin siguro ng iba’t ibang mga artista sa gabing ‘yun. Ang daming magaganda, pogi, daming mga dashing, and vibrant.”
She then recounted her favorite moments in the past ABS-CBN Ball events.
“Siyempre, kapag nagususuot kami ng mga gown. Ako favorite–siguro personal favorite ko na lang, ‘yung iba’t-ibang looks na sine-serve ko every ball na mayroon sa ABS-CBN. And may designers na suot ko. And excited ako kung anong magiging itsura ko, sana okay.”

The event, ‘ABS-CBN Ball 2023: For the Benefit of the ABS-CBN Foundation,’ happens this September 30 at the Shangri-La Makati Hotel.
As for Chiu’s endorsement, the Kapamilya actress promotes Lifestrong‘s Hairfix Multiplex Serum Shampoo and Conditioner products available nationwide at Watsons and SM Department stores.
