Actress Julia Barretto has spoken out to clear the air regarding a recent incident where she was accused of displaying an unfavorable attitude during a press conference for the movie ‘Will You Be My Ex?’ held back in June.
A video, since deleted, posted by blogger Cliff Irvine, showed Julia expressing frustration with what appeared to be disruptive individuals at the event.
During the conference’s discussion on the film, Julia humorously remarked, “Pero alam mo feeling ko, ang daming gustong mag-join sa presscon eh. Baka gusto nila tumabi na rin sa amin… Ang ingay eh.”
However, the actress sought to clarify her statement, underscoring that her comments were not directed towards the press but rather at other attendees present in the restaurant where the conference took place.
In her statement, she emphasized, “Hello. This is false. I was referring to some people who appeared to be inattentive to the ongoing event, NOT the PRESS. Media conferences always provide the space for us to engage in conversations with our friends from the press. We were trying to answer their questions, and it was becoming a bit difficult to hear each other.”
She also questioned the timing of the controversy, pointing out that the press conference occurred in June for the movie ‘Will You Be My Ex?’ She concluded her response by characterizing the situation as “clickbait.”
In the film ‘Will You Be My Ex?’ produced by Viva Films, Julia Barretto portrayed the character of Chris, alongside her co-star Diego Loyzaga, who played Joey. The film boasted a diverse ensemble cast that included names like Bea Binene, Mickey Ferriols, Phoemela Baranda, Benj Manalo, and more.
‘Will You Be My Ex?’ is available for streaming on the Prime Video online platform, offering viewers the opportunity to enjoy the movie at their convenience.
