The Kapamilya noontime show took a two-week hiatus as compliance to the suspension order imposed by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board.
On its return yesterday, October 28, Kapamilya noontime show, It’s Showtime, ruled the online concurrent viewership game, as it pulled off competition with fellow noontime shows, E.A.T. and Eat Bulaga, with a clear and commanding lead, throughout its 3-hour run.
It’s Showtime was already well-ahead of the two other shows, on its opening alone, drawing a combined concurrent viewership on YouTube and Facebook, of 111,000, or 36,000 more than that of E.A.T.’s 75,000. TAPE Inc’s Eat Bulaga, remains struggling to catch up with its competitors, with a usual below 3k live concurrent viewers per episode.
The Vice Ganda-led show further shot up with a peak 191,000 live viewers, combined from the streaming feeds of Kapamilya Online Live at Showtime Online U on both YouTube and Facebook, while TVJ’s E.A.T, peaked at 126,000 live concurrent viewers, combined from the official stream feeds of TVJ and TV5 on both YouTube and Facebook. Eat Bulaga, meanwhile, practically flatlined throughout its run, peaking only at a measly 3,200 live viewers on the show’s official YouTube channel and TAPE Inc’s Facebook page.
It’s worth noting that It’s Showtime still has unaccounted live viewers on iWantTFC, where the show also streams live episodes.
It’s Showtime, it can be recalled, received the 12-airing-day suspension from MTRCB, due to the alleged display of obscenity by hosts, Vice Ganda and Ion Perez, a decision larely ridiculed and opposed, by many.
