The production team of ‘It’s Showtime’ has reportedly filed a motion for reconsideration (MR) with the Office of the President, according to an October 4 report by Cristy Fermin.
This move is part of their appeal to delay the anticipated 12-day suspension of the show.
Initially, Cristy Fermin announced on her online show, ‘Cristy Ferminute,’ that ‘It’s Showtime’ would not be appealing to Malacañang and would simply face the suspension at the scheduled time.
However, it appears there has been a change in their decision, as per the information provided by her source on October 4.
With the submission of their appeal, it is expected that the Office of the President will implement a temporary suspension for ‘It’s Showtime.’ During this time, a substitute program will be aired from October 14 to October 27.
“Breaking news! Ito na naman… Nasa Office of the President na ang sulat ng Showtime. So, nag-apela pa rin sila sa Office of the President,” said Cristy.
In the past, ‘It’s Showtime’ has faced suspensions, particularly in 2010 when it received a 20-day suspension due to comments made by Rosanna Roces regarding teachers. As a result of the incident, Osang was removed as one of the show’s judges.
Despite this, the 20-day suspension imposed by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), led by Sen. Grace Poe-Llamanzares at the time, proceeded.

It has not been reported when the suspension will begin or what temporary title ‘It’s Showtime’ will use during this period.
