Former board member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) and ‘It’s Showtime’ judge, Gladys Reyes, was taken aback by the recent suspension of the popular noontime show.
Reyes confessed that she had not seen the main segment of the show that led to its suspension and thus could not offer a definitive opinion on the matter.
She went on to explain that the incident that led to the suspension was related to a segment different from the one she was involved in, so she couldn’t comment on its merits.
She also mentioned that during her time as a board member, the decisions made by the MTRCB committee were considered final and unchangeable, even by the chairman.
Reyes further indicated that the current events were surprising to her, and when she inquired about the show’s future, she was told that it would continue.
Although she expressed sadness about the suspension, she recognized the silver lining – the extended break allowed the ‘It’s Showtime’ team to bond, even taking a trip to Hong Kong.
Gladys believes that the situation was handled fairly. Last Saturday marked the conclusion of ‘Little Ms. U’ as ‘It’s Showtime’ returned to the airwaves.
After her stint with the Kapamilya network, Gladys Reyes is set to appear in ‘Black Rider’ and will reprise her role as an antagonist on GMA Network starting November 6.
