According to the panel of teachers behind the Gawad Tanglaw awards, there was no malice in the incident involving Vice Ganda and Ion Perez on ‘It’s Showtime.’
Dr. Jaime Ang, dean of Manuel L. Quezon University, explained that viewers interpret what happened on the Kapamilya noontime show in their own way.
Dr. Jaime also mentioned that the organization is pleased with the ongoing efforts of ‘It’s Showtime’ to bring joy to the audience despite the challenges it faces.
The show won the Best Variety Show award, along with ‘ASAP Natin ‘To,’ at the 20th Gawad Tanglaw Para sa Sining at Kultura held on Saturday, October 7.
Vice was also honored with the prestigious Gawad Dr. Debbie Francisco for Sining at Kultura ng Pangmadlang Komunikasyon (Arts and Culture in Mass Communication).
Recently, Meme Vice was recognized as an Iconic Pinoy Comedian during the 3rd Philippine Film Industry Month.
The ‘It’s Showtime’ host expressed gratitude for the series of blessings in his life, saying, “This is just very timely. As usual, the design is very consistent, di ba? The design is very consistent, yung after a few days, may award. Buong pagpapakumbaba kong inaalay itong karangalang ito sa lahat ng madlang pipol na patuloy na naniniwala at patuloy na tumatawa sa lahat ng ginagawa ko at sa patuloy na nagmamahal sa akin unconditionally. Maraming-maraming salamat,” he said in a recent episode of ‘It’s Showtime.’
The enhanced and improved ‘It’s Showtime’ will return to the airwaves on October 28.
