The Coco Martin effect?
ABS-CBN’s action-packed drama series, ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,’ remains loyal to the Kapamilya spirit of supporting fellow Kapamilya, and this commitment has brought other primetime teleseryes to new heights.
According to the recent Nielsen NUTAM People survey, FPJBQ’s consistently strong ratings performance has also boosted its primetime counterparts, ‘The Iron Heart (TIH)’ and ‘Senior High.’
On Monday, September 25, TIH outshone GMA Network’s new primetime series, ‘Love Before Sunrise (LBS),’ securing an 8.1 percent rating compared to LBS’s 8.0 percent. This marked TIH’s second victory against its Kapuso rival since March 31, when it outperformed the Kapuso drama series Hearts on Ice with a score of 8.3 percent versus 8.0 percent.
On Tuesday, September 26, the Richard Gutierrez-led action-thriller teleserye continued its winning streak against LBS, earning 8.6 percent versus 7.5 percent, establishing a 1.1 percent lead.
TIH’s triumphant run continued on Wednesday, September 27, as it achieved a rating of 8.6 percent, securing the fifth spot in the rating chart for the first time.
Finally, on Thursday, September 28, TIH reached an all-time high rating of 9.4 percent, surpassing LBS by a significant 1.7 percent lead at 7.7 percent.
ABS-CBN’s late-night teen crime mystery series, Senior High, also celebrated a similar victory.
On Wednesday, September 27, Senior High reached a new peak as it outperformed its competitor, Unbreak My Heart, with ratings of 4.6 percent versus 4.4 percent. This marked the first time a Kapamilya program in the third primetime slot won against its Kapuso counterpart since the ABS-CBN shutdown.
Then, on Thursday, September 29, although Unbreak My Heart quickly bounced back with a rating of 5.4 percent, Senior High achieved its highest rating to date at 4.8 percent.
Additionally, apart from locally produced primetime programs, ABS-CBN’s winning streak extended to its Asianovela series, Forbidden Flower.
On Tuesday, September 26, Jerry Yan’s Forbidden Flower surpassed its Kapuso rival, Jirisan, with a rating of 2.1 percent versus 1.9 percent.
And on Wednesday, September 27, the Kapamilya Asianovela once again clinched victory with a rating of 2.0 percent versus Jirisan’s 1.7 percent.
