ABS-CBN and GMA Network are currently locked in fierce competition for the highest position on the ratings chart.
According to the most recent ratings data from the Nielsen NUTAM People survey, ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ from ABS-CBN and ’24 Oras’ from GMA Network frequently trade for the top spot.
At the beginning of the week, ’24 Oras’ led the way with a 16.9 percent rating on Monday, October 9, while ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ slipped to second place with a 15.7 percent rating.
However, the next day saw a reversal in fortunes, as ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ rebounded to claim the top position with a 16.5 percent rating, pushing ’24 Oras’ to the second spot with a 16.1 percent rating.
The tug-of-war continued as ’24 Oras’ once again surged to the number one position, securing a 17.0 percent rating, which was 1.6 percent higher than ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’s’ 15.4 percent.
The success of ’24 Oras’ in reclaiming the top spot can be attributed to several factors, including its coverage of recent global events, such as the conflict between Palestine and Israel, which has direct implications for Filipino overseas workers in those regions. Strong pre-programming, exemplified by the consistently high ratings of ‘Family Feud,’ has also played a role.
On Monday, October 9, ‘Family Feud’ scored a 10.3 percent rating, securing the fifth position on the ratings chart. On the following day, Tuesday, October 10, ‘Family Feud’ maintained its fifth position with a rating of 10.9 percent.
