After several weeks of holding the runner-up position, GMA Network’s flagship primetime news program, ’24 Oras,’ has once again claimed the coveted top spot in the overall ratings.
According to the most recent ratings report from the Nielsen NUTAM People survey, ’24 Oras’ has reasserted itself as the number 1 program in the ratings chart.
On Wednesday, October 7, ’24 Oras’ secured a rating of 15.8 percent, surpassing the former number 1 ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo (FPJBQ),’ which recorded a rating of 15.5 percent by a margin of 0.3 percent.
This achievement marks the first time since September 8 that the Kapuso newscast has led the overall ratings board.
It is worth noting that on that particular day, the nation was abuzz with significant news events, such as the tragic demise of a Filipino fisherman in Bajo de Masinloc, which undoubtedly drove viewers to tune in to the newscast.
Furthermore, ’24 Oras’ resurgence to the number one spot may also be attributed to the strong pre-programming provided by GMA Network’s family gameshow, Family Feud. On the same day, Family Feud also delivered an impressive rating of 9.7 percent, securing the number 6 position on the ratings board.
Meanwhile, the number 3 position is still held by the Kapuso afternoon series ‘Abot Kamay Na Pangarap,’ with a rating of 11.6 percent. Following closely behind is the rival of FPJBQ, ‘Maging Sino Ka Man,’ with a rating of 11.0 percent, claiming the number 4 spot. Completing the top 5 is ‘Magandang Dilag,’ which garnered a 10.6 percent rating.
