GMA Network’s groundbreaking live-action adaptation of Voltes V: Legacy concluded its successful run in the ratings race.
On Friday, September 8, VVL aired its final episode to a triumphant victory over its rival, ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.’
According to the most recent Nielsen NUTAM People survey, VVL outperformed FPJBQ in the ratings, securing a 1.5 percent lead with 13.8 percent compared to FPJBQ’s 12.3 percent.
Throughout the week leading up to the finale, VVL consistently led the competition, except on Thursday, September 7.
On Monday, September 4, VVL secured a rating of 14.0 percent, claiming the second spot on the ratings chart. FPJBQ, on the other hand, garnered a rating of 13.5 percent.
On Tuesday, September 5, VVL maintained its second-place ranking with a slightly decreased rating of 13.9 percent, once again surpassing FPJBQ’s 13.2 percent.
On Wednesday, September 6, VVL’s ratings dipped to 12.9 percent but still managed to stay ahead of FPJBQ’s 12.8 percent.
However, on Thursday, September 7, VVL faced its only defeat during its finale week when it scored 13.2 percent compared to FPJBQ’s 13.4 percent.
In addition to its impressive ratings, VVL generated significant buzz on social media. Its finale hashtag, #V5LegacyOneEpicFinale, became one of the top trending topics on Twitter in the Philippines.

While VVL excelled in television ratings, it faced tough competition in the online viewer arena.
During its final episode on Friday, September 8, VVL had just over 43 thousand live concurrent viewers, while FPJBQ garnered more than 332 thousand live concurrent views.
Nevertheless, VVL still showcased its significance by elevating the quality of action-hero series in the country.
