In a heartwarming reunion, the former power couple, Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion, shared an encounter after a prolonged separation, setting the stage for their eagerly awaited concert next month.
During a media conference this afternoon in Okada Manila, held for their upcoming show, Concepcion and Cuneta had an unexpected reunion as he was leaving the event while she was arriving.
“Uy, first time na nagkita, first time kong nahawakan ang kamay oh, first time,” Concepcion expressed to Cuneta. “Sabi ko sa kanila kanina, pagkatapos ko dito aalis ako, baka hindi tayo magkita. Pwede ba tayo mag-hug bago ako umalis?”
He playfully teased the Megastar before leaving the media conference. “Uulitin ko ‘yung sinabi ko noon, ladies and gentlemen, on stage, Ms. Sharon… Concepcion noong araw ‘to eh, Sharon… Sharon na lang. Pa-kiss ulit,” the actor remarked.
Meanwhile, the Megastar shared her readiness for a reunion project with her former husband. “I was always ready. If you’re going to ask if we’re going to have a movie after the concert, I think it will depend on our concert,” Cuneta disclosed.
Concepcion also revealed during the press conference that there were plans for a reunion project even before the concert came into fruition. He humorously mentioned his excitement to perform some of the songs traditionally sung by singers. Concepcion even gave a sneak peek by performing a few of his favorite songs.
“Sinabi ko kay Sharon noon na I’m excited to do this show for the fans kasi sila naman ang nag-umpisa sa atin at kahit wala akong kitain dito,” he shared.
Apart from their dedicated fans, their daughter KC was among the first to celebrate when the reunion project was announced. “Thats true. Makikita niyo pagdating ng concert. I hope nandun si KC,” Concepcion added.
The Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion concert will delight their ardent fans on October 27 before a special VIP night at the Okada Grand Ballroom on October 30. The concert will also make its way to Cebu on November 17.
