The Subdivision and Housing Developers Association, Inc. (SHDA) will gather key government leaders, creatives, and industry leaders in the housing and real estate sector as they host the 31st edition of the National Developers Convention on October 5 and 6, 2023 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu City.
With the theme, “LOKAL NA BAI: Building Nationwide Growth Through Regional Development,” this year’s convention aims to attract around 400 developers, policymakers, suppliers, and various housing industry stakeholders.
The convention will explore innovative approaches to spurring economic growth at the grassroots level, all while contributing to the broader national development objectives. Day 1 will focus on Issues and Concerns that Affect the Housing Industry while Day 2 will be on Regional Success Stories in Real Estate Development.
Underscoring the significance of the convention, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. is expected to deliver a video message highlighting the administration’s flagship housing program, the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program (4PH).
Prominent figures from the national sector set to headline the event include Senator Joseph Victor “JV” G. Ejercito, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Urban Planning, Housing and Resettlement;
Congressman Jose Francisco “Kiko” B. Benitez, Chairman of the House Committee on Housing and Urban Development; Secretary Jose Rizalino L. Acuzar of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD); Secretary Arsenio M. Balisacan, Ph.D. of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA); and Marilene Acosta, CEO of Pag-IBIG.
The speaker lineup offers a blend of insights on creatives in the real estate industry, featuring Slater Young, celebrity entrepreneur, engineer, and 8990 Holdings brand ambassador; Hanky Lee of The Henry Hotels; Kenneth Cobonpue, multi-awarded industrial designer; and Cyndy T. Jarabata, CEO of TAJARA Hospitality Group.
Emphasizing the convention’s regional growth focus, several local government unit leaders, including Hon. Jonas C. Cortes of Mandaue City, Hon. Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” B. Benitez of Bacolod City, and Hon. Joseph R. Inton of Hermosa, Bataan, will share their respective LGUs’ best practices.
Other eminent figures, including Dr. Winston Conrad Padojinog, President of the University of Asia and the Pacific; Atty. Angel Aguila, Director V Housing and Real Estate Development Bureau of DHSUD; Atty. Gerardo Sirios, Administrator of the Land Registration Authority;
Dir. Anna Liza F. Bonagua from the Bureau of Local Government Development, DILG; and Ms. Ma. Corazon Halili-Dichosa, Executive Director of the Philippine Board of Investments, will address the housing roadmap for the country.
The two-day event will also offer panel discussions to provide in-depth insights into the current state and future prospects of the housing industry.
