The first lead teleserye of the new phenomenal Kapuso loveteam continues to struggle proving itself as a contender to overall primetime leader, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.
It seems carrying on with the magic they’ve made with Maria Clara at Ibarra, seems much harder than most previously thought, for Kapuso love team, Barbie Forteza and David Licauco a.k.a. BarDa. Maging Sino Ka Man, which the onscreen couple stars, continues to get lower ratings.
According to Nielsen Philippines, the first week of the series average 11.3 in people ratings; that’s nearly 5 points lower than ABS-CBN’s FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’s 16.0. Now two weeks into the two flagship primetime programs’ dreaded match in the ratings game, not much has changed, as the Coco Martin-starrer remains comfortably unchallenged on top of the charts. Last Friday, September 22, the series posted a 15.7 people rating, still ahead of Maging Sino Ka Man, which recorded an 11.2.
While the Forteza-Licauco-starrer unfortunately slipped off its place in the top 5, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo notably hit a major milestone in its more than 7-currently month run, pulling off its 10th consecutive placement on the no.1 spot of the TV ratings chart.
The Kapamilya action-drama series previously had a neck-and-neck four-month match with Maging Sino Ka Man‘s predecessor, Voltes V Legacy, but with the Barda-serye now going head to head with the Coco Martin-topbilled series, and failing expectations big time, it seems the Kapuso management may have to strategize better with the next show they plan to pit against the now overall no.1 TV show in the country.
