GMA Network premiered its latest primetime series, ‘Love Before Sunrise.’ How did it perform in terms of TV ratings?
On Monday, September 25, the Kapuso network unveiled its newest primetime drama, ‘Love Before Sunrise (LBS).’ According to the most recent Nielsen NUTAM People survey ratings, LBS faced tough competition in its debut against the Kapamilya action-thriller, ‘The Iron Heart.’
LBS premiered with a rating of 8.0 percent, just 0.1 percent lower than ‘The Iron Heart’s’ 8.1 percent.
It’s worth noting that LBS’ initial episode also fell short compared to its predecessor, ‘Royal Blood.’
On Friday, September 22, ‘Royal Blood’ concluded its run with an impressive rating of 12.6 percent, which was 4.6 percent higher than LBS’ debut rating. When comparing both pilot episodes, LBS still trailed behind ‘Royal Blood.’
‘Royal Blood’s’ pilot episode had achieved a rating of 9.8 percent, significantly outperforming ‘The Iron Heart’s’ 6.9 percent.
In a similar fashion, the Bea Alonzo and Dennis Trillo starrer series didn’t create much of a buzz on social media during its premiere.
Meanwhile, the first episode of the series showcased the serendipitous encounters between the characters Stella and Atom.
Atom appeared to fall in love with Stella at first sight when he offered his seat to her on the bus. While talking to a friend on the phone, Atom expressed his desire to see a shooting star, and he suddenly noticed that Stella had a shooting star tattoo behind her ear.
Their paths crossed two more times, including a heartwarming romantic moment when they shared an umbrella in the rain.
