Johnny Manahan, widely known as Mr. M, has heaped praise on Stell, a member of the popular Filipino group SB19.
Mr. M expressed his admiration for Stell’s exceptional talent and commanding presence while discussing the Asian franchise of “The Voice Generations” during a media conference.
“Wala akong masabi, wala akong mapintas!”
Mr. M has made a return to the director’s chair for the first Asian adaptation of the hit talent competition series, ‘The Voice Generations,’ which is currently airing on GMA Network. After several years away from directing, he decided to take on the challenge of overseeing the reality talent show hosted by Dingdong Dantes.
During a Zoom media conference last September 1, Mr. M expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of the project, highlighting that it had been several years since he last directed a TV show or movie.
This project also marks the first time he’s had the opportunity to direct Dingdong Dantes, GMA Network’s Primetime King. Mr. M commended Dingdong for his remarkable hosting skills, labeling him as one of the finest hosts in the industry today.
However, it was Stell from SB19 who left a lasting impression on Mr. M. He remarked on Stell’s unique presence, particularly when he shared his insights as a coach on ‘The Voice Generations.’ Mr. M was in awe of Stell’s performance, describing him as a star not only when he sings but also when he moves.
“‘Yung presence niya, presence lang, talbog na ako. Wala na ‘kong masabi, wala na ‘kong mapintas. Kapag kumanta siya, paggalaw niya, that’s a star. Star si Stell.”
‘The Voice Generations’ franchise originally hails from Australia but has found a strong following in the Philippines thanks to its broadcast on GMA Network. The pilot episode of the Filipino adaptation received a warm reception from viewers, quickly becoming a trending topic on various social media platforms.
‘The Voice Generations’ airs every Sunday at 7 p.m. on GMA Network, promising to be a thrilling showcase of exceptional talent and star power.
