On September 4, talent manager-director Johnny M. Manahan asserted his interest in doing a Kapuso teleserye.
At the media event for ‘The Voice Generations,’ which LionhearTV covered, Manahan admitted he had alluded to his hopes of doing a Kapuso teleserye to GMA Network bosses.
“Paminsan-minsan nagpaparinig ako, na you know I’d like to do a teleserye. Kasi dito sa GMA, hindi katulad ‘yung sa kabila na naghahaba. Dito two months, three months, eh may edad na rin ako eh. Hindi ko na kaya ‘yung ginagawa ko noon na two years ang programa, two years ako kumakayod kung saan-saan sa Pilipinas doing a show. I’d like to try something. Tignan natin kung ano ang mangyayari.”
He remarked that he wanted to work with Kapuso stars Julie Anne San Jose, Dingdong Dantes, and Barbie Forteza.
“Siguro si Miss Clai, Miss Clai, Barbie (Forteza), tuwang-tuwa ako doon eh noong pinapanood ko ‘yung Maria Clara at Ibarra. Basta nasa eksena si Barbie, she’s magnetic. Maliit siya pero kala mo ten-foot tall siya kapag acting niya. She’s one of the person.
“The other one is si Dong, na nakatrabaho ko na no, but I’d still like to work with him in the future.
“Pati si Julie Anne. If may idea ako for a musical– di naman series, parang special lang. Kasi mayroon siyang ‘yung ano di ba? Ano ba ‘yung special niya, Limitless. Gusto ko naman gumawa noon, iba, ibang kalokohan naman kasama niya. She’s a, major talent ‘yun eh. Lalo na kapag narinig mo ‘yung alto niya, ‘yung mababa.”
The Voice Generations features judges and coaches Billy Crawford, Chito Miranda, Julie Anne San Jose, and Stell Ajero of SB19.
Hosted by Dingdong Dantes and under the direction of Manahan, ‘The Voice Generations’ began on August 27, with new episodes every Sunday, 7 PM on GMA Network.
