On September 4, talent manager-director Johnny M. Manahan hinted at his hopes of directing a musical special for Julie Anne San Jose.
At the media event for ‘The Voice Generations,’ which LionhearTV covered, Manahan referred to San Jose’s concert event ‘Limitless’ when he talked about his hopes of helming a musical special for the Kapuso singer.
“Pati si Julie Anne. If may idea ako for a musical– di naman series, parang special lang. Kasi mayroon siyang ‘yung ano di ba? Ano ba ‘yung special niya, Limitless. Gusto ko naman gumawa noon, iba, ibang kalokohan naman kasama niya. She’s a, major talent ‘yun eh. Lalo na kapag narinig mo ‘yung alto niya, ‘yung mababa.”
As for his directorial comeback after three years with ‘The Voice Generations,’ Manahan thanked GMA Network for giving him the opportunity to helm the Kapuso TV show.
“Masarap, may tatlong taon na hindi ako nakahawak sa kahit ano mang show. And pagdating pa nito, wow, salamat kay Gigi, sa TV production, si Lilybeth, and sa lahat ng mga boss na umokay sila na ako ‘yung titimon ng The Voice. And salamat sa lahat ng naniniwala sa akin.”
Manahan then revealed that he suggested having new people on board for ‘The Voice Generations,’ including San Jose.
“Fun, I’m so happy to have new people on board. People like Julie Anne, and it gives ‘a new excitement’ for me. Dati kasi nandoon sila Lea Salonga, and sabi ko sa staff, ibahin natin, di ba? Lea Salonga nandoon na sa Hall of Fame. The [next] few judges should bring something new to the show. And they proved it by doing it.”
‘The Voice Generations’ features judges and coaches Billy Crawford, Chito Miranda, Julie Anne San Jose, and Stell Ajero of SB19.
Hosted by Dingdong Dantes and under the direction of Manahan, ‘The Voice Generations’ began on August 27, with new episodes every Sunday, 7 PM on GMA Network.
