On August 24, actress Jennica Garcia remarked that she had no regrets about her past marriage with her estranged husband, Alwyn Uytingco.
At the ‘Queen White’ media event at the Romulo Cafe in Quezon City, which LionhearTV covered, Garcia admitted that she questioned herself following her split with Uytingco.
“Noong una siguro when my heart was broken, nandoon ‘yung kinekwestyun ko ‘yung sarili ko at nakakahiya mang aminin, kinekwestyun– dumating din ako sa time na kinekwestyun ko rin si God, which is wrong, of course.
“Pero, I don’t want to make it appear naman kasi as if I got it all under control. Kalakohan naman ‘yun. Talagang kinuwestyun ko din si God sa mga nangyari, which is mali nga.”
However, she clarified that she would still go through her experience as it taught her to be independent and advocate for herself.
She then recounted her experience as a submissive wife.
“I am very, very dependent on my ex-husband.
“‘Yung parang when it comes to decision making, if my ex-husband comes to a decision, even if I don’t agree with him or I feel like there’s a better option or decision that we should take as a couple, I would always take what he wants.”
She then expounded that she would disagree with Uytingco’s decision but would still follow with her estranged husband’s decision.
“‘Yung parang when it comes to decision making, if my ex-husband comes to a decision, even if I don’t agree with him or I feel like there’s a better option or decision that we should take as a couple, I would always take what he wants.
“Not na hindi ako magsasalita, I will tell him, pero kaya ko kasi siyang sundin, wholeheartedly. Ang nangyayari susundin ko siya and then I pray to God na parang, ‘Lord, I don’t trust this decision. But because I trust you, sige, sige, I will let you decide.'”
Garcia then attributed her change in mindset after her split with Uytingco to her two children.
I think I also have my two children to thank for this.
