Controversial noontime show ‘It’s Showtime’ continued to air today, Tuesday, despite a suspension order issued by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
The hosts of the show addressed the issue during the broadcast and reiterated their intention to appeal the decision, as announced by their home network, ABS-CBN.
In a statement read by Jhong Hilario, one of the show’s hosts, they stated, “Kami ay maghahain ng motion for reconsideration dahil naniniwala kami na walang nangyaring paglabag sa anumang batas. Habang nakabinbin ang motion for reconsideration, ang desisyon ng suspensyon ng program ay hindi pa pinal at epektibo” (We will file a motion for reconsideration because we believe that no violation of any law has occurred. While the motion for reconsideration is pending, the decision to suspend the program is not yet final and effective).
The hosts also assured viewers that they would continue to enjoy the show while waiting for the final decision. They added, “Patuloy din kaming makikipag-ugnayan sa MTRCB para makapagpatuloy ang It’s Showtime sa paghahatid ng libangan at saya sa minamahal naming madlang people” (We will also continue to coordinate with the MTRCB to ensure that It’s Showtime can keep on providing entertainment and joy to our beloved viewers, the madlang people).
Jhong Hilario concluded the statement by expressing gratitude to everyone who loves and supports ‘It’s Showtime.’
We feel your love and support, Madlang People!

Meanwhile, the MTRCB emphasized that it is still awaiting the “finality” of the case before implementing the suspension. MTRCB Chairperson Lala Sotto explained that they are giving the show a chance and will wait for the final decision in the spirit of fairness.
