GMA Network is gearing up for an exciting lineup of new shows set to replace the current roster on GMA Telebabad.
First up is ‘Voltes V: Legacy,’ which will bid farewell on September 8. After a four-month run in the first timeslot following ’24 Oras,’ it’s time to say goodbye to ‘Voltes V: Legacy.’
On September 11, ‘Maging Sino Ka Man’ will premiere, starring the BarDa love team of Barbie Forteza and David Licauco. This upcoming series is a TV remake of the 1991 blockbuster film starring Sharon Cuneta and Robin Padilla. It tells the story of Monique (played by Cuneta), who assumes a new identity, Digna, after escaping her home. However, her web of lies begins to unravel when she meets Carding (Padilla).
The second timeslot, currently occupied by ‘Royal Blood,’ is reportedly not getting an extension, despite its high ratings. In fact, it has even outperformed the first timeslot in prime time. It’s expected to bid farewell this month.
Replacing ‘Royal Blood’ is ‘Love Before Sunrise,’ a collaboration between GMA Network and Viu Philippines. This project marks the reunion of Dennis Trillo and Bea Alonzo. ‘Love Before Sunrise’ is an epic love story that traces the journey of Atom and Tala, from their initial meeting under the stars to becoming friends, lovers, and eventually ex-lovers as they pursue their dreams. It’s a dramatic exploration of romantic desires and aspirations.
Although ‘Unbreak My Heart’ has just started its new chapter as the first-ever collaboration between ABS-CBN through Dreamscape Entertainment and GMA Network, along with Viu Philippines, there are already rumors of its impending conclusion. In terms of TV ratings, ‘Unbreak My Heart’ consistently leads in the third timeslot and performs significantly better than the shows it replaced.
The buzz suggests that the Star Creatives-produced teleserye ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’ will take over ‘Unbreak My Heart.’ This new series features the popular DonBelle love team and is set to be their first teleserye together. Helmed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, the teleserye tells a classic love story with a new generation twist, led by Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano. Belle plays Caroline, a Chinese girl from a wealthy and traditional family, while Donny portrays Bingo, a hardworking young man providing for his impoverished family.
It’s still a long journey ahead for ‘Unbreak My Heart,’ and many twists and turns may occur. The speculation about ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’ replacing it could be accurate, or it might not. Official statements from the relevant parties are awaited.
Meanwhile, GMA Telebabad is offering a diverse range of stories, from sci-fi fantasy to suspense thriller and heavy family drama. The GMA Network aims to cater to all tastes, promising a fulfilling viewing experience for Kapuso viewers.
