On August 27, Rolling Gum CEO Gayle Oblea highlighted the success of their music festival event ‘Bobapalooza.’
At the launch of the band Criminal Cinema, which LionhearTV covered, Oblea cited their efforts to promote the artists under their roster.
“One, we really want to [give a spotlight to] one of the [major] bands we are introducing under Rolling Gum–which is Criminal Cinema, because we have just finished their music video– and we’re launching it together with you guys.
“Second is, it’s really more of us introducing– what Rolling Gum is and what we do, right. And how we are different from other production companies and talent management companies out there. And, of course, the much anticipated, grandest music festival, Bobapalooza, for next year, 2024.”
She also discussed their previous music festival, ‘Bobapalooza,’ and their plans for the much-anticipated event.
“As we all know, Bobapalooza was such a huge success when we introduced the line up last year. We had our very first run of Bobapalooza at Circuit Makati,– which was a few blocks away. So far, SM has already mentioned that we are, [so far,] the only sold-out concert other music festivals, which I’m very, very proud of. And we are aiming to reach, of course, the exact same for next year. Even like the experience is going to be way higher(and) bigger than usual.”
She also hinted at their plans to invite international artists to perform in ‘Bobapalooza’ 2024.
“We are brining in some international acts for 2024. I cannot name them [just] yet because I want to keep it a secret. So to make sure that everyone would be surprised when we annouce it.”
Oblea then pointed out that their objective for ‘Bobapalooza’ is to provide the music festival experience for their attendees.
“One big thing– one thing that we love about Rolling Gum is that we believe in making sure that you go to each and every event production with experience. You go to the event not just for the bands to see, but you go there because of the experience itself. There are so many attractions that we’ve been preparing for the upcoming event– for the upcoming Bobapalooza in 2024.”
She also discussed their views about ensuring that their music events are reasonably affordable for their patrons.
“Rolling Gum also believes that everything has to be affordable, so we’re making sure that this event would be affordable for all. Of course, with ano no, affordable that makes sense, hindi naman ‘yung tipong may international act tapos sobrang mura, no, no, that’s not it.”
As for Criminal Cinema, the Filipino band released the music video for their song, ‘Apple,’ at the Balcony Music House.
