In the midst of an ongoing controversy surrounding Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile’s critical remarks, comedian and television host Vice Ganda shared a heartfelt message about senior citizens during a recent episode of ‘It’s Showtime.’
On Monday, September 11, Vice Ganda addressed the audience, emphasizing his appreciation for the elderly, despite acknowledging that not all of them may be his fans. This statement comes as the comedian faces criticism, including Enrile’s characterization of him as rude and indecent.
During the ‘Mini Miss U’ segment of the show, a contestant requested a shoutout to her grandfather, who happens to be an avid fan of Vice Ganda.
Vice responded with humor, saying, “Nakakatuwa. Andaming lolong nanonood sa akin. Ang daming lolong nakatutok sa akin, ‘di ba?”
He continued, “At love ako ng mga lolos. Hi sa mga lolos na love na love ako. Love natin ang mga lolos.”
The comedian expressed his genuine affection for senior citizens and the joy they bring into his life. “Isa sa mga pinakagustung-gusto naming pinagseserbisyuhan at pinag-aalayan ng saya ay ‘yung mga matatanda nating nanonood sa atin. We love the elderly — our grandmas and our grandpas. We love you lolos and lolas.
Vice Ganda also extended his love to those senior citizens who may not be particularly fond of him. “Pati na rin sa mga lolong hindi ako masyadong like, I still love you po.”
Despite ongoing controversies and criticism, Vice Ganda remains unwavering in his commitment to entertain and bring joy to their viewers on ‘It’s Showtime.’ The issue involving Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile is expected to persist, but Vice Ganda continues to be a beloved figure among his audience.
