The highly anticipated new chapter of ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ on September 11 proved to be a resounding success as it kicked off its new arc in ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida (TV5/A2Z/Kapamilya Channel/CineMO).
It shared the spotlight with the pilot episode of ‘Maging Sino Ka Man,’ headlined by the BarDa love team of Barbie Forteza and David Licauco.
TV ratings are crucial in determining a show’s performance, and two major ratings providers, AGB Nielsen and Kantar Media, released their respective data. ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ emerged as the clear winner in both ratings, triumphing over ‘Maging Sino Ka Man.’
According to AGB Nielsen’s data for PhinTAM (URBAN+RURAL), ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ garnered a solid 16.0% rating compared to the newly launched Kapuso drama ‘Maging Sino Ka Man,’ which started with 11.1%. In the NUTAM (URBAN) category, ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ secured 15.9%, while ‘Maging Sino Ka Man’ earned 11.4%. In the RTAM (RURAL) segment, ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ maintained the lead with 16.0%, leaving ‘Maging Sino Ka Man’ with 10.8%.
Kantar Media’s data (Urban + Rural) also supported the trend, with ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ commanding a 25.9% rating, while ‘Maging Sino Ka Man’ garnered 17.9%.
In the online arena, ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ drew over half a million viewers during its highly talked-about wedding scene, combining YouTube and Facebook audiences. In contrast, ‘Maging Sino Ka Man’ achieved only a little over 30,000 viewers. While these numbers didn’t surpass the 536,000 live concurrent viewers that ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ recorded during its finale episode on August 12, 2022, it marked the highest live concurrent viewers for Coco Martin’s new Primetime drama.
This battle between ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ and ‘Maging Sino Ka Man’ has only just begun, and there are many possibilities for the days ahead.
