COMEDIAN Empoy’s life is overflowing with blessings.
“When it rains, it’s four,” says the former Mr. Swabe champion jokingly.
And it’s quite true. He has a movie with Cristine Reyes titled “Kidnap For Romance”that is showing on September 6 and he also has an upcoming movie with Kim Molina.
And finally, it’s all systems go for his newest sitcom with Alessandra de Rossi on NET25.
Today, he has built his dream house after coming from nothing while being a father to his six siblings after the split of their parents.
“Bumibisita naman sila pareho sa amin. Ang talagang kasama namin ang lola namin. Pero dahil panganay ako, siyempre ako ang pumapastol,” says Empoy to Korina Sanchez-Roxas who hosts Korina Interviews.
“Parati na lang ako talaga nagugulat sa mga nadidiskubre ko sa mga kuwentong buhay ng guests namin. Naniniwala naman ako na kapag matulungin kang tao lalo sa pamilya magtutuloy-tuloy talaga ang swerte mo sa buhay,” says Korina who is also like the parent of her siblings.
Empoy had a long journey before he won as Mr. Swabe and before his mega-hit indie movie “Kita Kita.”
He worked as a lightman;
a service crew in a fastfood chain; and an assistant in a convenience store.
When Korina asked him how he maintains his lucky mustache, the comedian says: “Kailang may nakahilerang tatlong pusa na iba iba ang kulay. Paparada yan at yung ihi ng pangatlong pusa, yown! Yun ang ipapahid mo sa bigote mo.”
And the laughter on set was non-stop.
Check out the revelations, laughter, and stories of Empoy and Korina this Sunday, 5 pm on NET25, after the rom-com GoodWill.
