Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo recently disclosed details about his previous relationship with actress Jennylyn Mercado.
According to Trillo, their romance lasted approximately a year before they decided to part ways. Their love story initially began when they were working together on their second television project at the GMA Network.
During a guest appearance on the show ,’ Trillo reminisced about the past and revealed the circumstances that led to their initial separation. He mentioned that they eventually reunited after a few years, both finding themselves unattached and single.
“Nagkahiwalay din kami. After ilang years, nag-reach out uli kami sa isa’t isa. Tamang-tama naman, pareho kaming walang partners, single kami pareho,” Trillo remarked during the interview. He went on to describe how, similar to their on-screen narratives, Jennylyn Mercado gave their relationship a second chance, which he emphasized can indeed occur in real life.
Trillo explained that the second time around, their relationship was more mature and well-established. He expressed confidence that their union was on the right path and said, “Siguro sa tingin din namin wala nang makakapag-experience sa amin ng pagmamahalan na ‘yon.”
Dennis Trillo shed light on the reasons for their initial breakup, attributing it to their immaturity at the time and their vague plans for the future of their relationship. This prompted them to take a break and temporarily go their separate ways.
However, when they decided to rekindle their romance, Trillo emphasized that their relationship took a significant turn for the better. They are now certain that their path leads to marriage.
“Early on pa lang, before pang mangyari ang mga proposal, noon pa lang, tawagan na namin sa isa’t isa ‘asawa.’ Alam na namin na doon na talaga papunta ito. Kailangan lang maghanap ng perfect timing para mangyari na ang lahat ng ito,” Trillo shared.
Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado initially parted ways in 2011 but later reconciled in 2015. They officially tied the knot in 2021 and subsequently welcomed a baby daughter named Dylan in 2022.
It’s worth noting that Dennis Trillo also has a child with actress and former beauty queen Carlene Aguilar, named Calix, while Jennylyn Mercado has a child with actor Patrick Garcia, named Alex Jazz.
