Asia’s Pop Heartthrob Darren finds healing from negativity in his new single “Bibitaw Na.”
“This is an anthem for those who have healed from past relationships with a toxic environment. It’s about moving forward and having the sense of release from all the negativity they endured in the past,” said Darren, who first performed the song live at the “ASAP Natin ‘To Milan” last Sunday (Sept. 10).
The upbeat track, which was written by the pop heartthrob and produced by ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo, marks his first music release under Star Music. He also revealed that he was inspired by different breakup stories from his close friends.
“I personally don’t relate to the song, but I wrote it for those who have found them in the same light. It started out as a joke for my friends who recently came from breakups, ewan ko kung anong meron sa mundo no’ng mga panahon na ‘yon kasi halos sabay-sabay sila, but I continued writing it and this is the outcome,” he shared.
The Filipino-Canadian singer rose to prominence when he participated in the first season of “The Voice Kids Philippines” where he finished as a runner-up under Sarah Geronimo’s team.
Since then, he became one of the recognizable voices of his generation with several hits under his belt such as “In Love Ako Sayo,” “7 Minutes,” and “Dying Inside To Hold You.” He has also released two studio albums “Darren” and “Be With Me” which both went platinum.
He has also shown his acting prowess following his starring role in blockbuster film “The Hows of Us” and in the iWantTFC series “Lyric and Beat.”
