Former child actor Bugoy Cariño made a heartwarming proposal to his girlfriend, volleyball player EJ Laure, during his 21st birthday celebration on Sunday, September 3.
The touching moment was captured in a video shared by their friend Zeus Collins.
Cariño took the stage and declared, “Dahil itong babaeng ito, papakasalan ko. Itong babaeng ito, mamahalin ko hanggang dulo.”
He then mentioned Laure’s full name and popped the question, “Will you marry me?” The crowd erupted in joy and surprise.
EJ Laure accepted his proposal with a heartfelt “Yes.”
Bugoy Cariño and EJ Laure gained public attention when Laure became pregnant with Cariño’s child in 2018. At that time, Cariño was 16 years old, and Laure was 21 years old. The pregnancy announcement stirred mixed reactions, with some people criticizing Laure for being pregnant with a minor.
They kept Laure’s pregnancy a secret for several months, only making it public after she gave birth to their daughter, Scarlet, in August 2018.
