GMA Network’s Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza openly acknowledges that she cannot measure up to the legendary talent of the Philippines’ Megastar, Sharon Cuneta.
With the upcoming TV remake of the iconic movie ‘Maging Sino Ka Man,’ in which Barbie is set to star alongside David Licauco, comparisons between her and Sharon Cuneta are inevitable. The original film, which was a massive box office success, featured Sharon Cuneta and Robin Padilla.
During a recent interview on ‘ast Talk with Boy Abunda,’ Barbie Forteza candidly shared that her portrayal of Monique in the movie is distinctly different from what the audience saw in the classic version starring Sharon and Robin.
She also confirmed that her mother is a certified Sharonian, which added to the pressure she felt.
Barbie shared that she prepared extensively for her role and took the time to watch the movie version of “Maging Sino Ka Man,” which was released in theaters in 1991.
So I really loved the film! Sobrang nakakatawa sina Mr. Dennis Padilla, si Senator Robin, tapos iba ‘yung presence talaga ng ating Megastar doon sa pelikula,” Barbie added.
Before discussing her role in the remake, Barbie also praised David Licauco’s performance in their new series, where he portrays Carding, a role originally played by Robin in the movie version.
