A recent viral photo of actors Barbie Forteza and David Licauco hugging on the set of their upcoming series has garnered much attention.
In an interview with Nelson Canlas on ‘Chika Minute’ for ’24 Oras,’ the two stars took the opportunity to explain the context behind the photo.
David Licauco stated, “Tulog talaga kami nun kasi pagod na e, pagod na kami nun.”
Barbie Forteza added a clarification, saying, “To be honest, hindi pa take ‘yun, pero bina-block na kasi ni direk. Natawa lang ako kasi ‘yung unang take namin nun, ang dapat na mas yayakap, ako. Tapos nung pumitik ‘yung AD (assistant director) namin, siya ‘yung mas yumakap sa’kin.”
The duo is set to headline the series remake of the popular movie ‘Maging Sino Ka Man.’ David will portray the character Carding, while Barbie will take on dual roles as Monique and Dino. David will also be showcasing his skills in action scenes and stunts.
Barbie expressed her pride in David’s dedication and effort in his role, saying, “Na proud naman ako sa kanya dun kasi talagang in any way that he can prove himself talaga kaya ngayon, I’m very excited to watch him as Carding kasi nga nakita ko rin ‘yung dedication at ‘yung effort niya.”

David shared that he recognizes the need to step up his game when acting alongside Barbie, adding that he has learned a lot from her.
Barbie also revealed a humorous side, noting that she sometimes feels embarrassed when David asks her for guidance on certain scenes. Initially, she thought he was joking, but he reassured her that he was serious about seeking her input.
Regarding the romantic element of their characters in the series, Barbie teased that it would become more intense as the story unfolds.

“Kasi may pagpigil, may resistance, kaya masaya siya laruin,” she said, hinting at the exciting developments awaiting viewers in their upcoming series.
