On August 30, Kapuso star Barbie Forteza disagreed with the comment downplaying David Licauco’s part in growing the ‘BarDa’ love team.
At the media conference for ‘Maging Sino Ka Man,’ which LionhearTV covered, Forteza responded to a statement of a reporter noting that she was ‘carrying the loveteam’ in making their kilig-filled scenes believable.
She emphasized Licauco’s involvement in growing their pairing’s social media presence during their Maria Clara at Ibarra stint.
“I would also like to share the credit of the success of BarDa kay David kasi siya naman po talaga ang umpisang nag-simula ng Twitter-serye sa Maria Clara at Ibarra. Siya naman po talaga ang nag-initiate ng Twitter-serye na ‘yun. Naki-ride lang ako.
“Tapos nagustuhan ng mga fans kaya tumaas ang engagements namin sa Twitter. So I’d like to share the success with of course, David, dahil grabe talaga din ‘yung hardwork and dedication niya to make this partnership work na parehas kaming nagbe-benefit.”
She also highlighted how she gained a good friend in showbiz with Licauco while working with her fellow Kapuso star.
“And parehas kaming nag-gain ng friends sa isa’t isa. Through out the process of working together. And sa industriyang ito, masasabi ko na napakalaking bagay kung makahanap ka ng kaibigan sa isang katrabahong matagal mong makakasama kasi it’s kind of like a cruel world, it’s not easy being our shoes, so ang saya lang na we got each other’s backs.”
She then thanked their fans for supporting them with their projects.
“And as for the fans, as grateful as we are for the support na binibigay nila sa amin, na kahit hindi namin hiningi. Ibinigay nila sa amin ng buong puso.”

However, she emphasized that her and Licauco’s personal lives and relationships outside their pairing are ‘off-limits.’
“Siyempre, sabi nga po ni Miss Lea Salonga, we have to set our personal boundaries because at the end of the day, tao po kami. So, I guess– David will agree with me, ‘yung personal lives namin outside this partnership, outside this love team, are off limits. The people that makes us happy, the people that loves us, family, loved ones, off limits po ‘yun. Hindi po ‘yun kasama sa trabaho.”
As for their series, ‘Maging Sino Ka Man’ stars Barbie Forteza and David Licauco.
