Primetime King Coco Martin expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the loyal viewers of ABS-CBN’s hit primetime teleserye “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” as he teased the series’ new chapter with an official trailer, which has already received more than 10 million online views in less than 24 hours.
“Pinipilit namin gumawa ng palabas na alam namin mapaliligaya ang mga manonood gabi-gabi. Ayoko kasing tipirin ‘yung mga manonood natin. Na-aappreciate ko kasi ‘yung pagmamahal nila,” said Coco, who is also one of the directors and producers of the series, in an interview with “TV Patrol” recently.
Coco also praised his co-stars in the series, which include the new characters of Jaclyn Jose and Ivana Alawi, for putting their hearts into their roles.
“Masaya ako kasi nakikita ko ‘yung suporta ng mga kasamahan kong artista sa bawat eksenang ginagawa namin. Nagpapasalamat ako dahil itong teleserye ang nagiging daan para makapag-communicate tayo sa mga tao at nakakapagbigay tayo ng saya at inspirasyon gabi-gabi,” shared Coco.
As the new chapter of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” unfolds, viewers were given an extensive sneak peek of what’s to come in a more than five-minute explosive trailer, which is the first time Coco has ever dropped an official trailer for a new season of a TV series.
Coco’s co-stars teased viewers about the shocking plot twists and action-packed revelations that will soon unravel in the new chapter.
“I’m just so happy sa different turn of events especially when we shot the trailer. I’m so excited to share the screen with these wonderful actors and I’m so excited din to do scenes with Ivana,” said Lovi Poe, who will figure in a love triangle with Coco’s Tanggol and Ivana’s new character.
On the other hand, Ivana said that her character portrays dual roles who will add spice to Tanggol’s love life.
“Super excited because it’s my first time to do this kind of character and also mag-action. Abangan niyo ang totally different Ivana and a totally different character sa lahat ng na-play ko. This is really something new and something na ma-eenjoy niyo,” she said.
For Jaclyn, she is grateful to be part of the stellar cast of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” and she hopes to live up to the quality of acting displayed by her fellow co-stars Charo Santos, Cherry Pie Picache, and Christopher de Leon, to name a few.
“Kapag hindi ako nakapasok sa soap ni Coco, parang hindi kumpleto ‘yung pagiging artista ko. Kailangan namin makasabay, kung ‘di man namin mapantayan, ‘yung taas ng lahat ng mga karakter na nandito dahil talaga naman bawat character ay lumalaban,” she shared.
Meanwhile, netizens are already looking forward to the exciting twists in the series as the “Bagong Yugto” trailer spawned various memes on social media.
A post on Klasik Titos and Titas of Manila about the rags-to-riches transformation of Susan Africa’s character has generated 163,000 engagements and spawned several memes.
“After three decades, wala na siyang ubo. The world is healing! First time na hindi mahirap at hindi na inuubo ang role ni Susan Africa,” the post said, which generated several positive and funny reactions from netizens, including popular influencer Macoy Dubs.
“Ms Susan Africa on her most Rockwell Plantita role,” said Macoy. “Miss Susan Africa after niya magnomo esss ng Robitussin chiiiiii.”
Netizens also burst into joy and satisfaction upon seeing the scene wherein Christopher De Leon’s character, Ramon, busted David’s (Mccoy De Leon) real identity, leaving viewers thrilled as Tanggol entered the scene during the confrontation. However, some netizens expressed skepticism that the much-awaited scene will turn out as nothing more than a dream sequence.
“Finally yung gigil nating lahat sa walanghiyang David na yan matutuldukan na hahahaha, lagot ka ngayon,” posted @remuel004 about Mccoy De Leon’s apparent death as David. “Sana naman di yan panaginip ni david huh!! Banas na banas na ko dyan sa kayabangan ni david & rigor,” said @Maryella1703.
